Ichiro is a better outfielder than Matsui was in my opinion. They needed someone to replace Gardner speed wise. Ichiro still has his speed. Hell, Gerardi put him in the 8 spot tonight, so that shows they didnt pick him up for his bat. But ya, they havent had a regular starting left fielder since Gardner got hurt. Now they have one.
