Well this is some bullshit

Calif. Bill Would Allow Video Monitors in Vehicles

The California Assembly has passed a bill that would allow video recorders to be installed on vehicles' dashboards. State law currently
prohibits dashboard devices that may obstruct a driver's view.

The bill is supported by companies that hire teams of drivers. They want to ensure their employees are driving safely and use the cameras to help determine fault in an accident.

The bill's author, Republican Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher of San Diego, said companies that use the recorders in other states have reduced their accident
claims.

The devices could record a vehicle's speed, where it travels, whether the driver wore a seatbelt and when the brakes were applied before an accident.

The bill, AB1942, passed the Assembly 49-0 and now moves to the Senate.

that is somewhat good, but bad at the same time.
Thats bullshit because they can get all the info they need from a box that doesn't require a camera. Its another way for Obama to get into our personal lives and make it easier for world war 3. But they really do have a device that records all that info without the camera.
on paper it looks good. no more fighting about whos at fault in an accident, you can see if someone was texting or on the phone before the accident happened, and all that stuff. but the fact that it takes all privacy away is not something i would approve of, and im sure a lot of people will agree

i've heard of places doing this for a while now. if it pisses you off, i apologize on behalf om my city. please don't hate me :(
I just don't see how the violation of privacy is constitutional. Next thing you know they'll be putting camera's in our houses.
This shoulda been on the "It gets real strange in California" thread...LOL! shits fuckd up tho...it just gets worse and worse tryin to avoid a traffic ticket out here..
If you don't do anything illegal while driving then I don't see what the problem is. I'm tired of people driving like dicks.

And it's not really violating our privacy if it is in work vehicles only. If you're on the clock then you're the company's liability.
We cant help it...its how we are raised! LOL!
agreed

Its not just in work vehicles though from what i understand. Its' supported by companies for that reason but it's for all vehicles is what the thread says. And i agree on don't drive like a dick. But what if the dick isn't on his cell phone and looks normal to the camera??. Then the camera doesn't matter in deciding anything.
