Long-term marijuana abuse can lead to addiction; that is, compulsive drug seeking and abuse despite the known harmful effects upon functioning in the context of family, school, work, and recreational activities. Estimates from research suggest that about 9 percent of users become addicted to marijuana; this number increases among those who start young (to about 17 percent) and among daily users (25-50 percent).
Long-term marijuana abusers trying to quit report withdrawal symptoms including: irritability, sleeplessness, decreased appetite, anxiety, and drug craving, all of which can make it difficult to remain abstinent. These symptoms begin within about 1 day following abstinence, peak at 2-3 days, and subside within 1 or 2 weeks following drug cessation."

Cole said:youre an idiot. the reason you havent become addicted to weed is because it is physically impossible to become addicted to weed. unlike other drugs, which can cause your body to become dependent on the drug to perform necessary functions. that disregards every other point you attempted to make in your post

people who are "addicts" are just weak. or are fooled by the illuminati
cigarette companies have seered it into everyones mind that if you smoke you will get addicted and not be able to stop, its a great ploy. but anyone with a grasp of realness should know that its all in your mind.
but i could really care less cause ive never touched a cig and never plan on it.
Permalink Reply by Gareth on February 26, 2011 at 6:29pm only thing im addicted to is cigarettes(newports), im 18 now turnin 19 in a couple months, ive smoked cigs since i was in 7th grade, longest i was off cigs was in 8th grade for about a month then i started up again, but since then i haven't quit, shits hard to quit, but yeah thats the only thing im addicted to...oh and monster energy
Permalink Reply by ₡₱♛ on February 26, 2011 at 6:46pm I'm pretty positive he was talking about a physical addiction such as heroin where your body physically can't function properly without the drug permanently. That's why you see so many former addicts dependent on methadone and shit. This is not the case with marijuana at all and most of the symptoms listed in that snippet are mental which can be overcome none the less.
