What Jerm said, as well as the fact that most, if not all, of the things you can get addicted to give your body certain chemicals etc, or cause your body to release certain hormones. Obviously if you smoke and give your body an addictive chemical like nicotine, then your body is going to want you to continue the supply, and so make you crave. Your body is kept in check by various different hormones for eg, having a certain type of Vasopressin receptor gene can make you more likely to cheat and gamblers tend to have a lack of norepinephrine which is the hormone that gives us a rush when aroused, thrilled or stressed. That means they don't get the rush as often, meaning they gamble more in order to get the rush. Obviously these 'facts' have been found through studies so there may be some dispute, I don't have links to any of them haha, but yeah, it makes sense to me.
Acually studies show that people with higher iq are more prone to depression, and addiction than people with lower iq.

there is no such thing in my mind as "addiction", ive been torching hella buds for 2 years now and i can take breaks whenever i want. i could quit, i do not want to tho.

people who are "addicts" are just weak. or are fooled by the illuminati

cigarette companies have seered it into everyones mind that if you smoke you will get addicted and not be able to stop, its a great ploy. but anyone with a grasp of realness should know that its all in your mind.

but i could really care less cause ive never touched a cig and never plan on it.

youre an idiot. the reason you havent become addicted to weed is because it is physically impossible to become addicted to weed. unlike other drugs, which can cause your body to become dependent on the drug to perform necessary functions. that disregards every other point you attempted to make in your post

"Addictive Potential

Long-term marijuana abuse can lead to addiction; that is, compulsive drug seeking and abuse despite the known harmful effects upon functioning in the context of family, school, work, and recreational activities. Estimates from research suggest that about 9 percent of users become addicted to marijuana; this number increases among those who start young (to about 17 percent) and among daily users (25-50 percent).

Long-term marijuana abusers trying to quit report withdrawal symptoms including: irritability, sleeplessness, decreased appetite, anxiety, and drug craving, all of which can make it difficult to remain abstinent. These symptoms begin within about 1 day following abstinence, peak at 2-3 days, and subside within 1 or 2 weeks following drug cessation."

I'm pretty positive he was talking about a physical addiction such as heroin where your body physically can't function properly without the drug permanently. That's why you see so many former addicts dependent on methadone and shit. This is not the case with marijuana at all and most of the symptoms listed in that snippet are mental which can be overcome none the less.
