that happened over 15 years ago, im pretty sure they "beef" would have been done squashed and over with. Even on the "Up in smoke" tour Dre did California Love.

I'm suprised that some people didn't like it. It's not like they billed it as a special live performance by 2pac. Personally I love the idea of this expanding into more then just last night. I put on my facebook that a N.W.A. tour with a hologram Eazy or have a 2pac/Biggie show would be pretty badass and Frizz liked it enough to share it. Just shows you how the industry to expand to give people a chance to see there favorite artists perform again. I know i'd pay a lot to see a west/east show with a holographic Pac and Biggie to close the show.

Yea man good point. I agree about it hyping the festival for the future. Personally I never heard of Coachella until now. The place already gets packed. Like you said prices will probably go up for tickets next year after this. I think it was a great tribute. Since it was with Snoop and Dre, 2 rappers he was close too when he was alive, then I have no problem with it. If it was some random rappers that had no relationship with 2pac then it would be a huge stunt. I hope festivals don't start this hologram trend now. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Biggie and Eazy E performing as holograms in the future. It's touching and unique once and that's it.

I sure in the hell hope they don't do this. We are just going to bring rappers back from the past through a hologram? That's psychotic. Rappers come and go. Everyone comes and goes. Some people were lucky enough to be alive during the 2pac era. It should be kept that way.

Yeah, Pac was known for letting shit go (*sarcasm*). Seriously though, he probably would of ended his beef with Dre. He ended the beef with Nas like a week before his death. And of course Dre did "California Love" on tour. That's just good business.

Maybe Snoop wouldn't have done what he did when Pac died (sought out working with Bad Boy and signing with No Limit) but Pac would of crucified his ass for it if he did when he was alive.

 

The hologram is cool tech, but my problem is taking an icon (personal hero of mine), and having another man control his actions. Pac would not be happy being a puppet. Not sure many people would. I'm sure Afeni had to sign off and hopefully she did for the right reason.

This is from the MTV article on the digital Tupac at Coachella. "This is not found footage. This is not archival footage. This is an illusion [and] this is just the beginning," Ulbrich told the Journal. "Dre has a massive vision for this."  Wow. So at first I felt like this was kinda cool,  seeming to be just  a one off kinda thing, a big final goodbye in the memory of a great artist using what we all thought was archived footage that this was a cool tribute to Pac, but now it's really starting to look like a huge middle finger to Pac by Dre who is obviously seeing dollar signs to be earned off of the dead legendary rapper. WTF? A tour? and the ability to make a very detailed digital recreation of Pac do whatever Dre wants? Perform how he wants, AS MUCH as he wants. This wasn't archive footage, they can make this digital recreation act and perform exactly like Pac. In a sense Dre owns everything musical about Pac. His performance, stage presence, his music, and all the money that this will produce for him. Fuck Dre. If you were really friends with someone like Pac who is dead you would never do this. A one time thing would be completely understandable as a tribute, but a whole fucking tour which is gonna make godly amounts of money with Dre on the receiving end? And you Snoop's gonna be in there somewhere. That's not a tribute, that's a smack in the face. Pac was a legend and greater then Dre could ever be and Dre knows this and is a little jealous rat looking to take advantage of Pac and using him for his own gain. This is a sad sad day for music, and a great great day for money grubbing whores. Just when you think there is a line people won't cross to make money.... Watching a 2nd time, without the "wow" factor of it, you can see how off it is. They missed the tats on his chest, can't tell with the arms. It moves kind of like Pac, but I've seen a lot of footage of him performing and it's clear to see the difference. Plus, is he crip walking at 3:43? For real?
